About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Systems Administrator to join our growing IT team. This entry-to-mid-level role is perfect for someone with foundational systems experience who's eager to build technical depth in cloud administration, endpoint management, and IT operations within a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
As a Junior Systems Administrator, you'll support day-to-day IT operations, assist with cloud infrastructure management, and ensure smooth performance of systems that power our organization. You'll work closely with senior IT staff to troubleshoot, document, and optimize systems - gaining hands-on experience across multiple technologies and platforms.
Cloud Infrastructure Support Assist in provisioning and maintaining resources in our cloud environments (AWS or Azure) Perform routine maintenance tasks, including system updates and basic patch management Monitor system performance using cloud-native tools and report anomalies to senior staff Help manage user identities and access controls (Azure AD, AWS IAM) Support vulnerability remediation under senior supervision Application & Systems Administration
Provide Level 1-2 support for proprietary healthcare applications and SaaS tools Assist with deployment of application updates and patches Manage user accounts, permissions, and basic configurations Document recurring issues and resolutions for the internal knowledge base End-User & Device Support
Respond to IT help desk tickets in a timely and professional manner Troubleshoot issues related to Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365, and other corporate software Support endpoint management through MDM tools (Microsoft Intune and/or Kandji) Assist with employee onboarding/offboarding - device setup, access provisioning, and hardware configuration Security & Compliance
Follow security best practices to protect sensitive information (PHI/PII) Assist in maintaining compliance with HIPAA and internal security policies Participate in periodic security audits and documentation efforts Backup & Recovery
Support routine system and data backups Assist in scheduled disaster recovery (DR) drills and documentation updates Requirements
Required Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) 1-2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or junior system administration Foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts and exposure to AWS or Azure Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) Experience supporting Windows and/or Linux environments Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining system security and confidentiality Preferred Qualifications
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or AWS Cloud Practitioner Experience with SaaS application administration (Microsoft 365, Zoom, Slack, etc.) Basic scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) Familiarity with ITIL-based service desk processes and tools like Jira Service Management or Freshservice Exposure to healthcare or other regulated industries a plus
