develops business through insurance adjusters, customers, and other sources to assure an adequate sales volume. Provides a reasonable department operating profit, and maintains customer satisfaction standards while controlling expenses. Directs the activities of body shop employees in performing body repairs, including meeting time schedules and productivity levels, and maintaining quality standards. Responsibilities: Appraise vehicle damage to determine the cost of repair for insurance claim settlements. Inspecting and testing automobiles by using mechanical testing devices, questioning customers about the vehicles performance or by visually inspecting the vehicle. Prepares itemized work orders, listing the cost of parts and labor. Hires, trains, motivates, and monitors the performance of all body shop employees. Directs and schedules the work of all body shop employees. Establishes and maintains good working relationships with insurance adjusters and customers to encourage repeat and referral business. Monitors technicians daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records. Keeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases. Facilitates and/or conducts technical training. Ensures proper safety equipment is available and being used properly. Qualifications: Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations as well as writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
