Pay: $2,039.40/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)
Job Description
ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Cardiac Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Kansas City, Missouri. This role is ideal for nurses with strong cardiac and telemetry backgrounds who are confident in interpreting and managing cardiac rhythms, caring for post-procedural cardiac patients, and supporting a high-acuity stepdown environment within a leading teaching and trauma facility.
The RN will provide specialized, evidence-based care to patients recovering from cardiac events and procedures while maintaining high safety and quality standards in a dynamic teaching hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a cardiac-focused Progressive Care Unit.
Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias using telemetry and bedside monitoring systems.
Provide pre- and post-care for cardiac procedures, including angiograms, cardiac catheterizations, and cardiac surgeries.
Administer IV medications, cardiac drips (non-titrating), and vasoactive agents according to protocol.
Support patients with respiratory needs, including oxygen therapy, CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy, and chest tube management.
Manage central and peripheral lines, PICC lines, and post-hemodialysis patients.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including cardiologists, respiratory therapists, and physical therapy, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Participate in rapid response/code events as required.
Float between departments and facilities as needed within the scope of practice.
Work 8 weekend shifts per 6-week period and holiday rotations as assigned.
Qualifications
Active Missouri RN license, Kansas RN license, or Compact State license (required).
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU or Cardiac Step-Down experience (required).
Teaching hospital experience required.
Experience managing telemetry, cardiac drips, and post-cardiac procedure patients.
Certifications: BLS and ACLS (required).
Strong skills in dysrhythmia interpretation, ventilator and oxygen management, and rapid response care.
Preferred: Sheath removal and titration of vasoactive drips.
Ability to float to comparable units as needed across departments.
Excellent communication, adaptability, and critical thinking skills.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
