We are hiring a
Junior Project Manager .
Our mission is to streamline and accelerate the adoption of open source across the entire global enterprise technology market. Our customers embrace Canonical's approach to open source for complex projects on bare metal, on the cloud, and at the edge.
Our Project Managers are responsible for ensuring project success by owning, driving, communicating, and respectfully engaging all stakeholders, valuing integrity and accountability.
Within a portfolio of projects involving complex and evolving software technologies, customer and partner satisfaction depends on exceptional Project Managers who know how to respect and engage all stakeholders.
The role entails:
Ensuring programs and projects are delivered within schedule, scope, cost, budget, and resources expectations Supporting the identification of key technical and project risks and issues, and actively implementing mitigating actions Maintaining a strong customer focus and collaborating with all key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes Assisting in conducting regular status meetings and business reviews with customers Supporting the delivery schedule of critical third-party project deliverables Advocating to customers the appropriate technologies from Canonical's portfolio What we are looking for in you: Solid academic achievement in science, software engineering, or information technology Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English A solution-oriented mindset and ability to 'make things happen' with professionalism and negotiation skills Leadership experience from school or university Exceptional academic record from high school and university Undergraduate degree in a technical field or a compelling alternative narrative Confidence to speak up, exchange feedback, and share ideas Track record of exceeding expectations to achieve results Passion for technology demonstrated through personal projects Strong work ethic and confidence to collaborate with motivated colleagues Professional English communication skills and excellent presentation abilities Interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability Appreciation for diversity and effectiveness in a multicultural environment Thoughtfulness and self-motivation Result-oriented with a drive to meet commitments Ability to travel internationally twice a year for up to two weeks What we offer colleagues: Distributed work environment with twice-yearly team sprints in person Personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 annually Annual compensation review Recognition rewards Annual holiday leave Maternity and paternity leave Team Member Assistance Program & Wellness Platform Opportunities to travel and meet colleagues in new locations Priority Pass and travel upgrades for long-haul company events About Canonical: Canonical is a pioneering tech firm leading the global move to open source.
