Job Summary:

Southern Nuclear Operating Company’s Fleet Projects organization provides leadership to deliver solutions to improve project delivery, plant performance, and increase regulatory margin. We are seeking an experienced individual for the Plant Farley Site Projects Manager position. The Site Projects Manager provides strategic direction and is responsible for all phases of the project lifecycle from initiation through closure for the station’s major projects. The role also supports initiatives and priorities for the site and fleet, manages the projects capital portfolio, identifies project risks and opportunities, and communicates ongoing project efforts. Projects are executed safely, on schedule, within authorized cost targets, and with consideration of nuclear, personnel, and radiological safety. The manager leads project managers and supporting team members, supports implementation of projects, and oversees field activities as required.

Responsibilities:

Strategic direction for plant major projects and fleet initiatives.

Manage all project lifecycle phases from initiation to closure.

Lead and provide direction to project managers and team members.

Support implementation of projects and oversee field activities.

Ensure projects are safely executed on schedule and within cost targets.

Balance capital portfolio and communicate project risk and opportunity.

Drive continuous improvement and safety, personnel, and radiological safety.

Job Requirements:

Education/Experience Preferences

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline strongly preferred.

Current/previous Senior Reactor Operator license preferred.

Advanced degrees, Professional Engineer (PE) license, and other degrees/certifications will be considered based upon the candidate’s experience.

Project Management certification (PMP) is a plus.

Background/Experience Requirements

Minimum of 8 years nuclear power experience in Engineering, Projects, Maintenance, Work Management, or Operations; 10+ years preferred.

Minimum of 3 years in a supervisor/manager position is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Build and sustain relationships across all levels of the organization, including executive management and external stakeholders such as the NRC and INPO.

Working knowledge of design, work management, and procurement processes.

Understanding of business to identify and monitor strategic, financial, operational and compliance risks.

Excellent business acumen, analytical skills, and risk assessment capabilities.

Develop, support, and lead department/station initiatives.

Lead continuous improvement culture and support fleet and industry learning.

Ability to hire, coach, and manage a qualified staff, including performance management and workload delegation.

Effective communication with various levels of management and external organizations.

Problem‑solving using risk evaluation tools to protect safety, performance, budget, and project execution.

Strong written and oral communication skills.
