Role Description:
The
Project Sales Engineer (HVAC)
must have 5+ years of experience. This role is a comprehensive engineering sales position that requires a strong combination of sales expertise and knowledge of Commercial HVAC Systems.
You will be responsible for driving and sustaining business in equipment repairs, upgrades, and large, complex solutions sales. The majority of your prospecting (at least 90%) will come from the existing customer base.
Key Responsibilities
Qualify prospects and opportunities within assigned accounts.
Effectively present and close sales, addressing customer objections and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Manage and drive quotes through to closing sales.
Survey commercial HVAC systems, identify issues, and recommend solutions, while adhering to company pricing policies.
Essential Duties
Plan and schedule appointments effectively to maximize productivity.
Conduct persuasive sales presentations, identifying opportunities within the existing customer base.
Consistently generate sales revenue through proven methods and a track record of success.
Understand customer organizations and decision‑making processes, ensuring commitment to a decision timeline.
Address customer questions and objections effectively.
Identify customer needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Deliver compelling product demonstrations to prospective clients.
Communicate the value of products and solutions, including ROI.
Understand company credit policies and communicate them effectively to customers.
Survey and evaluate commercial HVAC mechanical systems, offering customers tailored solutions and identifying new project opportunities.
Work closely with the Operations Department to ensure customer needs are understood and met.
Use vertical market strategies to identify opportunities within the existing customer base.
Leverage the value proposition to engage customers and generate interest.
Assess job conditions and provide recommendations for maintenance.
Coordinate project work with subcontractors and equipment representatives to ensure smooth execution.
Required Experience & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
5-7 years of sales experience in the commercial HVAC industry.
5-7 years of hands‑on experience with commercial HVAC systems.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Solid knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
Valid driver’s license is required.
