Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to lead and support enterprise Active Directory and Entra ID related projects. This role requires technical expertise in Microsoft identity platforms (Active Directory and Entra ID), PowerShell scripting, and security best practices. In addition to the technical skills this role requires strong communication and project leadership capabilities as the engineer will not only execute the technical aspects of a project but also provide light to moderate project management.
Core Responsibilities: Support and modify Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and Entra ID (Azure AD) environments including but not limited to items such as:
Active Directory
Active Directory Users and Computers (identity) Group Policy Editor Site and services (replication) DNS (AD integrated) Troubleshooting Etc. . .
Entra ID
Identity synchronization (Entra ID Connect) Entra ID P1 and P2 Conditional Access SSO SCIM Troubleshooting Etc. . .
Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation, reporting, and bulk operations. Utilize Microsoft Graph API for advanced identity management and integration. Configure and troubleshoot hybrid identity solutions, including ADFS and Pass-through Authentication. Implement and support authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, Kerberos, NTLM). Apply Zero Trust principles, manage MFA, RBAC, PIM, and ensure compliance through auditing and monitoring. Use diagnostic tools such as Azure Monitor, AD logs, and Entra ID sign-in logs for troubleshooting. Communication & Collaboration:
Clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Produce high-quality documentation including architecture diagrams, SOPs, runbooks, and technical reports. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including security, networking, application, and support. Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, present solutions, and manage expectations. Leadership & Project Management:
Lead identity-related projects, migrations, and upgrades. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. Plan and execute changes with minimal disruption, following change advisory board and change management processes. Tools & Platforms:
Active Directory Entra ID Intune PowerShell Client / VS Code Microsoft Graph Explorer ADSI Edit, RSAT Tools, Command Line Tools (dcdiag, repadmin, etc. .) ServiceNow Qualifications:
Proven experience in enterprise identity and access management. Strong background in Microsoft identity technologies and scripting. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
