We provide comprehensive in-jail health care services including medical treatment, mental health support, substance use treatment, and re-entry assistance, playing a crucial role in NYC's criminal justice reform initiatives. Work Details Time: 9 AM - 5 PM Days: Monday - Friday Facility: Various Locations on Rikers Island Position Responsibilities This full-time role reports to the Clinical Director of Psychiatry and is vital for overseeing and enhancing mental health treatment programs within our correctional facilities. Approximately 25% of new jail admissions receive mental health services, requiring a commitment to safe, evidence-based therapeutic interventions. The Clinical Supervisor will: Develop and implement operational procedures for monitoring and evaluating mental health programs. Lead and coordinate staff training initiatives to foster a culture of clinical excellence. Provide regular supervision and guidance to mental health staff, reviewing clinical decision-making and documentation. Facilitate daily multidisciplinary meetings, collaborating with DOC and mental health teams. Assist in quality assurance and improvement efforts directed by the Clinical Director of Psychiatry. Oversee re-entry coordination with social work teams. Participate in program design meetings with clinical leadership. Manage personnel matters for clinical staff, including recruitment and mentorship. Dedicating at least 20% of your time to providing direct clinical care, including supervision of trainees. Minimum Qualifications A valid license and current registration to practice in a mental health discipline issued by NYSED. Three years of relevant experience in health care, including one year in a managerial or supervisory role. Preferred Qualifications Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate across various disciplines, including with DOC staff. Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on staff development. Demonstrated proficiency in diagnostic assessments and treatment planning. Educational Preferences Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology or LCSW. Current New York State license. Applicants at the doctoral level without a license must secure NY State licensure within 14 months of employment. Experience working with individuals with mental illness, preferably in institutional settings.
