Project Manager Structural Steel (Remote or Onsite | Mid-Atlantic or Southeast)
Remote-friendly; locations: Delmar, DE | Federalsburg, MD | Memphis, TN
Are you an experienced Project Manager with a structural steel background looking to join a tight-knit, high-performing team? Were seeking a detail-oriented, technically proficient, and team-minded Project Manager to lead multiple structural steel projects across the Mid-Atlantic and southeastern regions. About the Role In this role, youll oversee multiple structural steel fabrication projects averaging $1.5M$3M each, totaling around $8M$12M in active workload. Project durations typically span up to 2 years. You'll be reviewing drawings, coordinating with internal teams and external partners, visiting project sites, and ensuring work progresses smoothly, on time, and within budget.
What You'll Be Doing
Review and vet shop and contract drawings for constructability and alignment
Coordinate with in-house detailers to ensure timely and accurate drawing submissions
Conduct drawing reviews (50% of your time) to confirm all elements align with contract requirements
Vet and support change order requests (15%) ensuring gaps are identified and resolved
Collaborate with production teams and erection crews to monitor progress
Conduct periodic site visits to evaluate project flow and troubleshoot in-field issues
Manage 45 projects concurrently while maintaining a focus on quality, timeline, and budget
Contribute to the continuous improvement of project delivery processes
Experience & Qualifications 3+ years of structural steel project management experience
Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
Strong knowledge of coordination between fabrication, erection, and field operations
Experience with Procore, Microsoft Office, and Airtable
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, or Architecture (but not required)
Work Environment
Flexible hybrid/remote work model available, though preference is given to candidates local to theDelmar,DE,Federalsburg, MD, orMemphis, TNareas
Approximately 50 hours per week
Site visits are encouraged; ability to drive to company locations is if local
Team-oriented, collaborative culture with strong support and cross-functional coordination
