The City of Lenexa is currently accepting applications for an Outdoor Pool Manager. This role is a great opportunity to gain leadership, customer service, and teamwork skills while serving the community at one of our three facilities:
Flat Rock Creek: 13120 W. 103rd St.
Ad Astra Pool: 8265 Maurer Rd.
Sar-Ko-Par Aquatic Center: 8801 Greenway Ln.
Hiring Timeline:
Applications are currently being accepted. The hiring process will begin in December, with start dates in spring. Applicants will be contacted starting the first week of December about next steps in the hiring process. Interviews will take place throughout January and February, with final selections made before the start of the season.
Schedule:
This position requires weekday, weekend, and holiday availability. Applicants will provide their availability (specific days and hours) during the application process, which will be reviewed as part of the hiring decision.
Position Summary:
The Outdoor Pool Manager oversees daily operations, staff supervision, and program management at the City-s aquatic facilities. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment, supervising and training staff, ensuring quality service for patrons, resolving issues, managing inventory, and balancing financial reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 20 years of age
Must have a high school diploma or GED
Must have two years of supervisory experience.
Must have or obtain American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certifications before the start date.
Possession of a valid driver-s license and satisfactory credit history are required.
Starting rate of pay is $18.75 per hour with annual raises.
Environmental and Physical Factors: Work is performed in and around an outdoor pool environment with frequent exposure to sun, heat, humidity, wind, and other weather conditions. The position requires standing and moving for extended periods of time and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. Tasks involve physical activity, use of hands, and clear vision to complete work safely and accurately.
Offers of employment are contingent upon successfully passing a drug screen. A background check is required for applicants aged 18 and older.
