Overview
California State Controller’s Office’s Unclaimed Property Division is seeking an Associate Governmental Program Analyst to support complex analytical duties, develop and implement policies, and provide consultative services related to the Unclaimed Property Program. The role is based in Sacramento with a hybrid telework option.

Unclaimed Property Division
Responsibilities
Coordinate and conduct training, including development and continuous improvement of curriculum and training materials for staff on the evaluation of claims. Recommend training programs to management to improve employee performance and develop training accordingly. Cross‑train with other UPD and Bureau staff to assist in areas such as approving claims. Research and develop unclaimed property processing procedures, and write desk procedures for claims evaluation. Provide detailed program information to departmental officials, employees, and claimants regarding the Unclaimed Property Program, procedures, and policies. Work on special projects, including testing the new KAPS system and preparing statistical analysis reports. Prepare project‑management tracking spreadsheets, dashboards, and issue papers. Run designated system reports and provide data to management. Represent the Bureau on teams and workgroups with divisional, departmental, or statewide impact on the Unclaimed Property Program. Handle the most complex or sensitive projects that directly impact the Bureau’s efficiency and effectiveness. Review complex claims and provide feedback and training to staff as needed. Serve as a program expert, working closely with Section, Bureau, and Division Chiefs on matters related to claims submitted to the Bureau. Lead projects and act as a resource across units.
Qualifications
Associate Governmental Program Analyst Examination certification (take the required examination). Minimum qualifications as stated in the Classification Specification (including related experience, education, and skills).
