Senior Controls Engineer - Advanced Aerospace
We’ve partnered with an innovative aerospace organization developing a new class of high-performance aircraft. The team is applying modern control system design to deliver exceptional stability, precision, and automation in demanding flight environments. This role offers the opportunity to influence system behaviour from concept through operational deployment. What you’ll be working on
Creating and optimizing control laws for multi-axis, highly coupled aircraft configurations Developing real-time embedded control software for safety-critical applications Enhancing aerodynamic and actuator models used for prediction and analysis Running simulation campaigns to evaluate handling qualities and performance Supporting structured ground evaluations and monitored flight operations Interpreting test results to adjust parameters and validate control strategies What you bring
Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field (Master’s or PhD ideal) Several years’ experience developing control systems for aircraft or comparable vehicles Strong understanding of flight dynamics, modern control theory, and state-space methods Experience with model-based development using MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++ Exposure to embedded targets and deterministic real-time environments Not required but gives you an edge
Experience with unconventional aircraft layouts or distributed propulsion Familiarity with structured test environments and post-flight data analysis Understanding of safety-critical certification considerations Practical hands-on experience operating test vehicles or simulators What’s exciting about this
