Position Summary The General Foreman provides hands-on leadership for a crew of tradesmen and laborers on a new wastewater treatment plant project in Chesapeake, VA. This role is ideal for an experienced crew leader who can supervise daily operations, coordinate materials and equipment, enforce safety policies, and maintain high-quality standards while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to ACE's high standards of quality. The General Foreman reports directly to the Superintendent. Key Responsibilities Provide direct management of crews of 4-8 tradesmen and laborers, ensuring work is installed correctly, productively, and safely. Assist the Superintendent with jobsite trailer setup and utility connections. Locate existing and future underground utilities in coordination with utility companies. Assist in establishing benchmarks, staking property corners, and structure locations. Supervise crew members on a continuous basis and ensure adherence to schedules and break times. Coordinate with the Superintendent to understand proper work installation procedures. Monitor labor productivity and work toward budget and goal targets. Perform work consistent with the highest quality standards to minimize rework. Maintain a safe work environment and comply with OSHA regulations. Enforce ACE safety policies and maintain a clean work area. Maintain equipment in safe operating condition and conduct routine inspections. Report anticipated special risks to the Superintendent. Maintain positive relationships with inspectors, subcontractors, and job staff. Complete punch list work and assist with demobilization of ACE trailer and equipment. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience as a Crew Leader or Trade Foreman on water, wastewater, or industrial construction projects. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a highly functional team. Highly motivated, flexible, and committed to safety and excellence. Successful completion of drug screening, background check, and E-Verify required. Routine use of standard construction tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and site equipment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods, climb stairs/ladders, and lift heavy loads.
