PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

The Procurement Specialist reports to the Director of Commercial Services (or designee) and is responsible for implementing the procurement processes. Essential Functions
Maintain appropriate data and KPI’s in terms of supplier performance. Prepare and administer request for quotations. Perform qualifications and commercial analysis on suppliers & supplier quotations. Compose, negotiate, and administer project or category purchase orders using input from internal and external customers, management, and project teams. Process modifications to terms and conditions of purchase agreements. Develop and maintain project supplier records, schedules, and reports pertaining to meetings and status of supplier including open issues, expediting data, delivery information, questions, and key decisions made in the course of project work. Maintain regularly scheduled and ad‑hoc contact with suppliers to assure they are meeting scheduled deliveries; make unannounced inspections as required. Expedite and report the progress of supplier's procurement activities, shop schedule, and shipping dates. Interface between the project team and suppliers regarding schedule and coordination of delivery for equipment, materials, and vendor documentation. Drive success in a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, peers, and senior management. Lead and coordinate project buys with engineering & project managers across all projects. Identify and implement integrated supply chain processes that deliver cost‑effective solutions. Identify and implement improvements to supply chain using research, supplier relationships, industry knowledge, and best practices. Close‑out purchase orders including resolution of supplier conflicts. Effectively contribute to the company’s competitive advantage. Qualifications
3‑5 years of experience in procurement, including 1+ year of expediting or logistics. Experience in using data‑centric procurement software. Proven familiarity with engineered equipment and materials. Knowledge of procurement systems in an engineering and construction environment. Education
High school diploma. Bachelor's or associate degree preferred. Competencies
Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Adept at problem‑solving. Takes personal responsibility for actions & decisions, values integrity.
