Each day, as the Director of Operations at Lakeview Schools, you bring leadership and practical expertise to ensure our facilities are safe, well-maintained, and supportive of student learning. You guide the daily work of maintenance and grounds staff while also managing contractors for custodial, lawn care, and snow removal services. From overseeing capital projects and energy management to coordinating inspections and ensuring compliance with MIOSHA, ADA, and environmental standards, your work keeps Lakeview's schools running smoothly. Whether planning long-range facility goals, responding to emergencies, or partnering with outside vendors, you make a meaningful impact on the quality of education and the safety of our community.

What You'll Do • Oversee day-to-day operations of maintenance and grounds staff. • Coordinate contracted services for custodial, lawn care, snow removal, and other building/grounds operations. • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, grounds, and equipment. • Develop and monitor the operations and capital outlay budgets. • Manage vendor contracts and ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards. • Lead safety programs, accident investigations, and compliance training for staff. • Serve as the district's AHERA Designated Person for asbestos and environmental compliance. • Manage HVAC systems, energy conservation initiatives, and sustainability practices. • Oversee state and local inspections (boilers, fire alarms, playgrounds, bleachers, etc.). • Lead planning for major capital improvements and long-term facility needs. • Ensure ADA/Barrier-Free compliance across all buildings. • Able to prepare drawings/specifications and comprehensive bid documents. • Develop long-range major maintenance projects. • Process purchase orders and approve invoices for facilities-related services. • Oversee all district renovations and remodeling projects • Respond to emergencies, including HVAC, fire, security, and weather incidents.

Who You Are • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general construction. • Skilled at reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. • Experienced leader with the ability to supervise staff and coordinate contractors. • Effective communicator, able to collaborate with staff, parents, and community partners. • Organized and proactive, capable of balancing short-term needs with long-term planning.

What You'll Bring

Education/Experience • High School Diploma or GED required. • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Facility Management, Engineering, or related field preferred. • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in facility/maintenance supervision. • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in facilities or operations management.

Certifications/Training • Valid Michigan driver's license. • Asbestos Designated Person and Plan Manager certification preferred. • Lead Renovation and OSHA/MIOSHA certifications preferred. • Training in energy management, ADA compliance, and school safety protocols desirable. • MSBO CFD certification or willing to obtain certification

Compensation & Details • Salary Range: $90,250 - $99,995 • Comprehensive benefits package • Reports To: Superintendent of Finance • Starting Date: As soon as possible • Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
