Carpenter
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Completes quality control analyses on production materials on a timely basis to prevent delays in the production units. Coordinates QC analyses with shipping to provide completed Certificate of Analysis’ at time of shipment. Calibrates instruments. Makes up solutions. Performs housekeeping. Orders lab supplies. Properly disposes of lab waste. Runs various tests in the lab and enters analytical results in a database. Performs other duties as assigned and maintains excellent attendance and punctuality. TEST REGULARY RUN IN THE LAB:
Hydroxyl by phthalic anhydride in pyridine and by FT-NIR % Water by Karl Fischer pH Color by APHA and Gardner Appearance CPR (Controlled Polymerization Rate) Kinematic and Brookfield viscosities Cloud point determination (both automated and manual) Acid and base titrations (both automated and manual) Quantification and qualification of antioxidants in polyols by UPLC Total unsaturation content by titration Routine analysis of cooling tower water, tempered water and plant utility water EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS
Fluent in both Microsoft Office software and Oracle software, familiar with working in an ISO certified laboratory and knowledgeable of GLP Basic laboratory functions such as pipetting, analytical weighing, calculating results (including algebraic equations) and record keeping Two years of experience as a technician in a production control lab for a chemical manufacturing facility are required. Work experience in an ISO Certified lab is a plus Knowledge of wet chemistry (College chemistry coursework is preferred) Maintain good organizational skills, possess time management skills and function well in a high through-put laboratory THIS POSITION WORKS ROTATING 4 On/ 4 Off - Nights/Days 12 HOUR SCHEDULE.
EDUCATION
High School, plus two to three years specialty or technical training.
