META
Summary:
We're seeking an experienced Optical Systems Engineer to join our Reality Labs XDO team, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Wearable Glasses display and imaging systems. As a key member of our team, you'll explore innovative architectures and design spaces for Wearable Glasses display systems, develop and analyze system components, and drive detailed system-level analysis. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic environment where you will consistently switch between high-level thinking and meticulous attention to detail to mature our display system architectures and designs.
Required Skills:
Optical Systems Engineer Responsibilities:
Develop new concepts and technologies for Wearable Glasses Display and sensor systems
Cross-functional engagement with internal and external partners to develop concepts and prototypes into realizable product hardware designs
Define sub-system requirements with the product team, then deliver AR/VR hardware, software, and calibration that meets specifications. This may include: hardware (optics, electronics, mechanics, silicon, sensor, data-communication), software (computer vision algorithms, calibration, modeling, analysis), and performance analysis
Drive optical system requirements definitions. Flow down optical system requirements to sub-system and component level. Resolve requirements discrepancies at different levels
Drive design verification, testing, and troubleshooting process to correlate with optical modeling and metrology, and between sub-system performance and system performance
Support TPMs in evaluation, validation, and delivery to specs by metrology, user studies, safety studies, FMEA analysis, environmental analysis, and dogfooding
Contribute to the process of design releases, prototyping and creation of RFQ, ERS documentation
