PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provide supervisor support under the direct supervision of the Director of Transportation. Oversee maintenance and repair of district vehicles and equipment, manage inventory and supplies, and monitor resource allocation within budget guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED
Texas School Bus Driver Certification
Valid Texas CDL - Class A or B with P and S endorsements or ability to obtain within one year
Preferred: Diesel Mechanic Certification, ASE Certification, TASBT Master’s Certification
Skills and Experience
Must be 21 years old
Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of vehicle systems
Ability to perform repairs independently
Computer skills: Internet, Word, Excel, Outlook
Experience: 5+ years in automotive or related field, with supervisory experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and evaluate transportation staff
Oversee repairs, maintenance, and safety compliance
Manage inventory and procurement processes
Coordinate training and certifications for staff
Ensure vehicle safety and cleanliness
Maintain accurate records and reports
Support district safety and operational goals
Working Conditions Requires physical activity including lifting up to 40 lbs, working inside and outside, exposure to weather, fumes, and chemicals, and working in various postures.
Additional Information Full-time, Mid-Senior level management role within the education industry. Responsible for safety, maintenance, and supervision of transportation fleet.
