Machinist III

Position Summary As a Machinist III you will be responsible for performing set-up and operate equipment such as, but not limited to, mills, lathes, mill/lathe combo which machine, cut, tap and alter bar stock according to specification. Follows blueprints, rough sketches, or engineer drawings to machine metal accurately. Uses hand and power tools to smooth and finish edges and/or complete part. Shift: 3:00pm-1:30am Monday-Thursday. What you will do as a Machinist III: Perform all duties of a Machinist I and II. Set up and operate 3-5 axis CNC machining equipment and maintain an 80% to 90% efficiency rate daily. Operate two or more different types of machining centers. Have the ability to run all machines/equipment within area assigned without help from higher level machinist. Navigate NC's of the machining centers being operated. Interpret/edit program speeds, feeds, depths, spindle/tool and 5 axis orientations. Execute F.A.I.R. Work or first run programs. Capable of mentoring and training Machinist I and II. Use required measuring instruments and gauges to check and ensure parts meet dimensional requirements. Comply with all quality standards and safety rules and regulations. The Experience, Skills and Abilities Required: High School Diploma or GED 5 years of CNC Machining experience 2 years experience working in a solid metal fabrication/machining environment Ability to read and understand blueprints, process routers and Standard Operating Procedures. Must have strong math skills and basic computer skills. Must have advanced troubleshooting skills. Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must have ability to stand for long periods of time. Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be able to operate 3 axis CNC machines. Must be able to read and interpret work instruction documents. Must be able to use precision measuring instruments and gauges. Must have ability to create and edit programs. Must have knowledge of tooling used on machines being operated, plus basic knowledge of G & M code.
