is seeking a
Derivative Security Master / Valuations & Middle Office Operations Specialist
to support the firms derivatives platform and core middle office functions. This individual will be responsible for overseeing new derivative setups, validating valuations, and working closely with investment teams to ensure accurate order entry. The role is critical to daily portfolio oversight and post-trade execution across alternative, derivative, and hedge fund strategies. In addition, the specialist will contribute to process enhancements across the organization and act as a primary liaison for Portfolio Managers. Responsibilities
Partner with Operations, Accounting, Trading, Prime Brokers, and both internal and external investment teams to support the derivative lifecycle. Coordinate with fund administrators to review and validate derivative valuations. Manage daily and monthly reconciliations, including positions, swaps, and cash balances. Process and review daily cash movements across various broker and custodian relationships. Investigate and resolve breaks in books and records. Track and manage Treasury and Collateral exposures. Analyze and address discrepancies in P&L reporting. Maintain and report on counterparty data, including financing terms and cost metrics. Contribute to automation and straight-through-processing (STP) initiatives, as well as broader risk and efficiency projects. Serve as a point of contact for Portfolio Managers and Traders, ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution. Qualifications
35 years of relevant industry experience in derivatives and middle office operations within asset management, hedge funds, or prime brokerage environments. Working knowledge of operational aspects of fixed income products, cash, OTC derivatives, and their settlement mechanisms. Detailed understanding of P&L components across multiple security types. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail, accountability, and ownership of deliverables. Ability to execute tasks and projects with minimal supervision. Proven ability to work effectively with external service providers. Strong written and verbal communication skills
