is seeking a hands-on

Sr. Mainframe System Programmer

to join our client's Technology Services team and take ownership of our IBM z/OS environment, third-party software, and mission-critical systems.

This is more than a technical role-it's a strategic position that influences infrastructure direction, disaster recovery planning, and cross-functional collaboration across IT and business units.

Candidates local to Cleveland willing to work hybrid schedule is strongly preferred, but Remote candidates based in the US will also be considered.

Salary: $150,000-200,000 commensurate with your experience.

Responsibilities Serve as the mainframe subject matter expert, guiding infrastructure, application, and third-party teams. Lead installation, configuration, and testing of IBM z/OS and software like TopSecret, CA-1, BMC AMI Storage, Endevor, and more. Administer CICS and JobTrac environments. Drive capacity planning, performance tuning, and resource optimization. Mentor junior system administrators and provide technical leadership across teams. Spearhead disaster recovery planning and testing for mainframe and storage systems. Evaluate emerging technologies (Linux, cloud-ready solutions) to enhance platform efficiency. Collaborate with IT leadership to shape long-term infrastructure strategy. Requirements

10+ years of hands-on experience in complex mainframe environments. Proven leadership in infrastructure engineering and mentoring. Deep expertise in IBM z/OS, CICS, JobTrac, and mainframe storage/tape systems. Strong understanding of mainframe security, workload management, and IDMS database concepts. Experience with enterprise-wide infrastructure projects, upgrades, and global consolidations. Familiarity with ITIL service management and continuous improvement practices.
