Qualifications:
Requires a minimum of five years of mechanical inspection experience.
Two-year technical degree or Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) .
Knowledge of shop mathematics, blueprint reading, geometric tolerances, and SPC.
Position Duties
Inspects complex manufactured parts for conformance to print and specification requirements.
Performs visual, dimensional, mechanical, and optical inspections per instructions.
Uses basic to complex inspection measurement equipment including CMM, microscopes, optical comparators, and coordinate measurement equipment to set up and verify dimensions and geometric tolerances for compliance.
Works from engineering drawings, internal and external specifications, quality assurance standards, test procedures, and verbal instructions to determine acceptance of product.
Participates in continuous improvement teams.
Assist in supporting customer onsite audits.
Maintain the highest ethical and quality standards, even when challenged from above.
Uses computers to document quality records, first article and dimensional reports, and job status, including the scanning and filing of records." for subject-verb agreement..
May assist with lean initiatives and participate where required.
