Job Summary
The SMT Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment to produce high-quality electronic assemblies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position focuses on precision, efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The SMT Operator will work with MyCronic or Universal Fuzion pick-and-place equipment and perform setup, operation, inspection, and basic troubleshooting to ensure optimal production performance. Job Responsibilities Operate, set up, and maintain MyCronic or Universal Fuzion pick-and-place SMT equipment
Perform SMT production tasks, including component placement, soldering, and visual inspection of electronic assemblies
Conduct minor troubleshooting and adjustments to equipment to maintain consistent quality and output
Follow established manufacturing procedures and quality standards to ensure defect-free production
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals, deadlines, and performance targets
Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and enhance efficiency
Follow all company safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) practices
Report equipment issues, quality concerns, or process deviations promptly to the appropriate personnel
Job Requirements Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an SMT Operator required
Hands-on experience with MyCronic or Universal Fuzion pick-and-place equipment strongly preferred
Strong understanding of SMT processes, including soldering, reflow, inspection, and component handling
Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, and production documentation
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical certification in electronics manufacturing preferred
Work Schedule Second shift position based in Oldsmar, FL
Must be available to work assigned shift hours and occasional overtime as required by production needs
