Job Summary:
As a Licensed Masters Mental Health Professional, you will provide crucial mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention services for adult and/or child members facing a diverse range of mental health challenges. You will collaborate with physicians, psychiatric professionals, and other allied health team members to tailor and direct effective treatment plans for each individual.
Essential Responsibilities:
Design, implement, coordinate, and assess clinical treatment programs for members with acute or chronic mental health conditions. Participate actively in team conferences to plan and evaluate these treatment strategies. Offer outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
Guide and counsel patients and their families on how to follow prescribed therapeutic regimens and medication plans, ensuring compliance within your professional scope. Facilitate psychoeducational classes and groups as needed.
Prepare detailed intake summaries, treatment plans, and case summaries while maintaining comprehensive and confidential records in accordance with state regulations and NCQA standards. Participate in the department's on-call rotation as required.
Work alongside physicians in screening and evaluating patients for psychotropic medications, leveraging available community resources and organizations to enhance patient support. May also contribute to the development and evaluation of behavioral medicine and health psychology programs across various environments.
Supervise Post Masters Fellows and Associate clinicians when appropriate, guiding their clinical development.
Provide support to families of members, offering detailed explanations of treatment plans, instructions for supporting their loved ones, and interventions to increase adherence to treatment.
Utilize community resources to address patients' needs and facilitate appropriate referrals for families as necessary. Be involved in departmental program development, execution, and evaluation.
Report any safety concerns to the mandated reporting agencies to ensure member safety.

Master’s degree in Social Work, Social Welfare (clinical track), Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or related field from an accredited institution. License, Certification, Registration: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California) Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California) with Couples and Families Endorsement to be obtained within 24 months of hire. National Provider Identifier required at hire. Additional Requirements: Familiarity with DSM-V for diagnosis is essential. Experience assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must. Knowledge of social service systems, state regulations, and patient confidentiality standards related to member treatment. Willingness to be part of the department's on-call rotation. Understanding of Evidence-Based Practice and psychotherapy research methods. Knowledge of bio-psycho-social factors impacting mental health. Accuracy in diagnosis and the ability to develop effective treatment plans. Proficiency in individual, family, and group psychotherapy. Professional maturity and ethical integrity are necessary for the role. Commitment to quality service, teamwork, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary clinic is essential. Capacity to manage multiple objectives efficiently and timely. Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment. Preferred Qualifications: Post-licensure experience as part of a psychiatric treatment team in outpatient or inpatient settings. Experience with crisis intervention, individual, and group psychotherapy. Demonstrated professional maturity and ethical integrity. A track record of commitment to quality service and teamwork.
