Description Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric stages utilizing both standardized tests and observational methods. Craft personalized treatment strategies targeting both short-term objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements. Deliver one-on-one speech therapy focused on communication, language acquisition, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing rehabilitation. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary professionals - from physical and occupational therapists to nurses and physicians, as well as family members - to ensure a unified approach to patient care. Provide education to patients and their families, empowering them to continue progress beyond the clinical environment. Occasionally perform inpatient speech evaluations and therapy sessions, maintaining a seamless care experience for patients on their treatment journey. Keep detailed and accurate documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards. Engage in continual professional development through ongoing education and collaborative learning with peers. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification has not been attained. Certifications
State licensure as a
Speech Language Pathologist . ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is highly desired. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic interventions for all age groups, alongside a thorough understanding of developmental as well as acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to tailor therapy methods to respect and meet varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
