What to expect

Responsible for the planning, day-to-day direction, and ongoing evaluation of assigned partial hospitalization program. Assures sound and effective processes for admissions, coordination and delivery of treatment and services, and timely discharge and appropriate communication to the next level of care. Supervises and ensures the staff development of assigned staff. Participates in the development of program budget(s) and monitors expenses. Works to ensure compliance with the requirements of licensing, regulatory, and accreditation bodies. Provides direct clinical services to limited caseload of 3 to 4 cases while maintaining administrative and operational responsibilities.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

Customer Relations

Actively seeks to meet the needs of patients and clients as well as other customers--payers, families, referrers, and staff. Maintains effective liaison with other Sheppard Pratt programs and staff; referral sources; and community agency and treatment professionals. Program Management

Responsible for the daily management of assigned program, which includes the following representative duties: the screening and approval of admissions and discharges, assignment of therapists, oversight of billing and administrative functions, scheduling of staff, ensuring the safety and maintenance of the program facility, and ensuring commitment to continuous quality improvement. Investigates and resolves problems and complaints as necessary. Fiscal Management

Participates in the development of program budget(s) and monitors expenses. Oversee daily charges and supporting patient documentation to ensure accuracy and efficiency of the billing process and compliance with requirements of Medicare, managed care companies, and other payers Staff Supervision

Selects, orients, directs, appraises job performance, and as necessary and in consultation with Human Resources, disciplines and discharges assigned program staff. Provides consultation to supervisees for clinical direction with difficult cases, and is responsible for the coordination of their review and follow up. Provides support and coverage to social workers during emergency situations. Provides significant input into the annual performance appraisal of assigned staff. If possessing board approved supervisor status, may provide clinical supervision to program’s LGPC/LMSW level as appropriate to professional standards. Documentation/Compliance

Works to assure that the program's practices and records comply with Sheppard Pratt policies and the requirements of licensing, regulatory, and accreditation bodies. Initiates corrective action as necessary to ensure compliance. Treatment offerings at Sheppard Pratt’s Day Hospitals include:

Family meeting/collaborative care with family, friends, and/or significant others Group treatment, which can include modalities like: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Medication Education, Recreation/activity, Psychoeducation Supportive counseling Treatment planning Aftercare planning What we need from you.

Work requires program planning and evaluation, budgeting, and strong written and oral communications skills - acquired through a Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling. Must possess current license to practice as follows: possession of a Maryland State Social Work license, at the certified clinical (LCSW-C) level OR Maryland State Professional Counseling license, at the certified clinical (LCPC) level, at time of appointment and continuously throughout tenure in position. Board approved supervisor status preferred. Work requires three to five years of progressively more responsible related experience in order to plan and direct all phases of assigned clinical program; gain knowledge of reimbursement, licensing, and credentialing requirements; and demonstrate managerial ability sufficient to develop short and long-term goals and objectives, formulate and administer budgets, market program, and direct staff. Work requires interpersonal skills sufficient to direct staff and to effectively communicate within Sheppard Pratt and with outside individuals, groups, and committees in order to exchange information, provide services What you'll get from us.

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, license and years and level of related experience. The pay range for this position is $60k - $105k.
