We are seeking a professional and dependable
Patient Services Representative I (PSR I)
to join our healthcare team. The PSR I serves as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring a positive and professional experience throughout the specimen collection process. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and maintaining strict compliance with established procedures, safety standards, and patient confidentiality requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Perform accurate and timely specimen collection and processing duties in accordance with established procedures and safety protocols
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment at all times
Deliver excellent patient care by explaining procedures clearly and ensuring patient comfort and confidence during specimen collection
Accurately document all required information, maintaining complete and compliant records
Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection duties with precision and care
Support quality and process improvement initiatives as directed by the area supervisor
Promote a positive image of the organization through professional communication and conduct with patients, clients, and coworkers
Demonstrate flexibility and reliability to support the team's daily operational needs, including covering additional shifts when necessary
Job Requirements
Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proficient in computer systems, data entry, and recordkeeping
Flexible and available to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
Reliable transportation required (rideshare services such as Uber or bus transport are not considered reliable)
Consistent punctuality and attendance are required; excessive tardiness or absenteeism will result in termination
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic coursework preferred
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
Work Experience
Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; one or more years preferred
Previous experience in customer service or patient-facing roles preferred
Data entry and computer literacy required
Additional Job Details
Location:
Within a 20-25 minute commute of the assigned worksite (must be listed on resume)
Shift:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM; every Saturday 6:30 AM - 11:00 AM until conversion to a permanent employee
Work Arrangement:
100% on-site (not eligible for remote work)
COVID Vaccination:
Not required
State Credentials:
Phlebotomy certificate preferred but not required in Florida
Performance Expectation:
Rate is based on verified years of direct phlebotomy experience (overlapping roles do not count twice per rate card guidance)
