JUDICIAL CALL CENTER SUPERVISOR - BISBEE CLASSIFIED: Position is subject to the provisions of the Merit System Rules pursuant to Arizona Law.

ANTICIPATED RATE OF PAY: $27.19 to $33.99 hourly dependent upon qualifications, plus a comprehensive benefits package to include membership in the Arizona State Retirement System

Under the general direction of the Court Administrator or designee, this role involves significant independent decision‑making that impacts the organization’s efficiency and productivity. The supervisor must blend established policies and innovative problem‑solving to address challenges effectively. Key responsibilities include planning, assigning, and evaluating the work of staff members while also leading employee selection, training, and discipline. Additionally, this role requires strategic resource coordination, ensuring the optimal use of staff, and equipment to support accurate, timely workflows. Responsible to provide direct assistance regarding information on court processes, forms, and community services. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. TYPICAL DUTIES: (Illustrative Only)

Assist with development, implementation, evaluation, and interpretation of policies, and procedures; ensure the unit work conforms to local, state, and federal governmental regulations, and other applicable rules and requirements; assign and monitor overall unit workload distribution and activities; investigate, document, and resolve customer and employee issues; provide employee training, performance goals, and performance appraisals; coordinate continuing education for Judicial Call Center Generalists; track and report progress and assist the court in achieving court goals; make hiring decisions and take disciplinary action as needed; develop training materials and manuals to assist staff in learning and maintaining their knowledge and skills; coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage; collects data and reviews statistical reports related to Court Administration specific to case management to ensure accuracy; assist with records and document management issues; maintain order and decorum by instructing and assisting persons having business with the court; provide information regarding case management records to government agencies and the public upon request; participate and serve on specialized workgroups as directed.

Associate degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education; and three (3) years of work experience in a court setting or progressively responsible administrative work experience; and one (1) year of supervisory experience. Individuals must be able to read, write, and speak English and speak Spanish. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License and the ability to be covered by county insurance.

An equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved may be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preference may be given to individuals with an Arizona Court Manager Certification. Progress toward attainment of Arizona Court Executive is a plus.

Knowledge of:

court operations and basic legal terminology;

technical legal search engines and resources;

case management processes and software;

the principles of supervision, training, communication, delegation, and be able to demonstrate sensitivity in handling personnel matters;

the operation and procedures of a court and the justice system.

Skill in:

producing documents that are well organized using proper sentence construction, punctuation, grammar;

providing reports and analyses regarding project objectives and progress.

Ability to:

manage complex projects and problem solving;

organize assignments, follow priorities, meet deadlines, and provide management‑level updates and reports;

be resourceful and initiative with new laws and court rules to have continuity and accuracy of data;

research facts, analyze, and identify resolutions to issues;

maintain confidentiality of court‑related information;

work effectively individually or in a team environment;

communicate effectively and successfully with customers of varying skill levels, communication styles, and personality types;

ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is primarily performed under general supervision. Incumbent generally performs work in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force; frequently lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds requires a good deal of walking, standing or involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls.

Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details and verbal instructions, requires emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem‑solving skills.
