Overview

The Buyer II is responsible for executing the procurement of goods and services in alignment with organizational requirements, cost objectives, and quality standards. This role supports departmental and company-wide procurement strategies by managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and terms, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. The Buyer II works under limited supervision and handles more complex purchasing activities and strategic sourcing initiatives compared to entry-level buyers. The position requires cross-functional collaboration with internal teams such as operations, engineering, and finance to resolve procurement issues. Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee the purchase of materials for assigned commodities. Collaborate with Senior Buyer to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost-effectiveness, reliability, and other relevant criteria. Participate in procurement planning activities, development of overall strategies, and source selection meetings. Manage supplier communication and monitor market trends. Participate in monitoring supplier performance through scorecard management and address supplier performance issues, cost of poor performance or corrective actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Enterprise Category Leaders to develop, implement, and execute strategic sourcing strategies that drive efficiency, cost savings, and process improvement. Collaborated cross-functionally with planning, engineering, and operations teams to align procurement activities with production and project timelines. Process purchase orders in ERP systems (SAP, Epicor) ensuring accuracy in specifications, pricing, and delivery terms. Resolve purchase order, invoice, and delivery discrepancies in coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Maintain current lead times and pricing sheets to support procurement team and accuracy for PO creation. Track order status and follow up on delayed shipments or discrepancies. Experience & Skills

Education: Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field Experience: 1-3 years of business experience in supply chain Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems Exposure to complex procurement tasks; experience implementing improvements or best practices across functional areas. MRP and ERP technology background; willingness to train Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams. Competencies
