Day-to-day job duties:
Use Spring Boot to design, build, test, and deploy scalable microservices for logistics operations such as order processing, warehouse management, and shipment tracking.
Create and maintain responsive user interfaces for logistics applications using Angular, focusing on a seamless user experience for critical operational tasks.
Write complex SQL queries for DB2 and perform database design and optimization, ensuring data integrity for all logistics data.
Develop and implement event‑driven data pipelines using Kafka for real-time processing and communication between microservices.
Work with GCP services—including Google Kubernetes Engine, Compute Engine, and Cloud Storage—for application orchestration and data storage.
Develop middleware and APIs to bridge newly developed Java applications with legacy COBOL systems, enabling gradual modernization.
Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code; participate in regular code reviews to maintain quality standards.
Participate in daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to track progress within an Agile/Scrum framework.
Collaborate with business analysts, UI/UX designers, and QA testers to define and deliver new features for logistics applications.
Guide and mentor junior developers, ensuring best practices are followed and knowledge is shared across the team.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on experience in full‑stack Java development, including enterprise application design, development, and deployment.
Minimum 3+ years of experience with Spring Boot and microservices.
Proven experience building responsive front‑end interfaces with Angular (v10+), TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
Strong expertise in message‑driven architecture and real‑time data processing using Apache Kafka.
Direct experience integrating with and interfacing to legacy COBOL systems.
Proficiency in database design, SQL optimization, and DB2.
Experience deploying and managing applications on Google Cloud Platform, including GKE and Pub/Sub.
Familiarity with DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.
Solid understanding of the software development life cycle within an Agile or Scrum environment.
