Senior Development Manager, Utility Solar and BESS (ERCOT)

Trina Solar US Project Development & Investment team is looking for a highly accomplished renewable energy Senior Development Manager, Utility Scale Solar and Battery in ERCOT to join our growing team. Reporting to the head of utility origination team, the manager will work with cross-functional teams to deliver successful projects.
Main Responsibilities
Originate utility scale solar and battery project development opportunities focused on site control and evaluating feasibility of project interconnection, permitting and revenue contracts
Identify local early‑stage developers that will co‑develop with Trina and lead deal structuring and commercial negotiations for project acquisition or other partnership structures such as development services agreement or joint development agreement
Identify and organize the greenfield development of solar and battery projects by creating and updating project maps and databases using GIS tools based on attractive interconnection points in target regions
Prospect and contract suitable greenfield and brownfield sites through land options, leases and sales with landowners
Conduct market and regulatory research and formulate a market development strategy
Based on site control, research potential revenue opportunities for each specific site
Coordinate the tasks and inputs of the supporting functions such as Legal, Engineering, Finance, and Project Management
Support financial modeling to assess project economics
Keep fully informed in a timely manner on market development and industry news/events in order to quickly identify business opportunities
Track record of successfully negotiating and closing commercial transactions with landlords, developers, utilities, regulatory agencies and offtakers
Strong analytical skills, capable of identifying key risks and creating win‑win for all parties
Strong entrepreneurial spirit with can‑do attitude and drive to overcome challenges and succeed
Flexible attitude, with the ability to effectively manage unexpected changes
Excellent team player, prioritizing the fulfillment of team objectives
Superior communication skills, capable of effectively managing interactions at all levels
Self‑starter, results‑driven, detail‑oriented, strong work ethic, striving for excellence
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years utility scale solar experience in the ERCOT in senior roles within business development and/or project development functions
BS degree required, MBA or relevant masters preferred
Knowledge of the solar industry, specific regional regulations and market mechanisms
Full‑cycle development experience in ERCOT is highly preferred
