Position Overview The Inventory & Operations Control Manager will oversee the full operational workflow of a hemp‑derived finished goods warehouse. This includes managing inventory systems, supervising warehouse staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing fulfillment processes. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of strategic oversight and day‑to‑day operational leadership to support growth, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership
Oversee daily warehouse operations: receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping
Manage staff scheduling, workflow, and performance
Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant facility aligned with OSHA and hemp‑handling regulations
Develop SOPs and monitor KPIs such as throughput, labor efficiency, and order accuracy
Inventory Oversight & Control
Lead inventory control activities: tracking, replenishment, cycle counts, reconciliation
Maintain real‑time inventory accuracy using ERP/WMS systems
Implement FIFO/FEFO strategies to reduce spoilage and optimize space
Investigate and resolve discrepancies or loss trends
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with federal and state hemp storage, labeling, and movement regulations
Maintain audit‑ready records for all product transactions
Collaborate with compliance teams for inspections and audits
Oversee record retention and system backups
Systems & Data Management
Manage ERP/WMS systems for integrated inventory and order tracking
Develop dashboards and reports to monitor key metrics
Identify and implement process and technology improvements
Ensure data integrity across all platforms
Cross‑Department Collaboration
Align inventory with sales, procurement, and logistics teams
Support demand forecasting and purchasing decisions
Coordinate with shipping partners for timely deliveries
Maintain clear communication across departments
Leadership & Development
Supervise and mentor warehouse and inventory staff
Conduct training on SOPs, safety, and compliance
Evaluate performance and implement development plans
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience managing warehouse or distribution operations, preferably in a regulated industry (hemp, cannabis, or consumer goods)
Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, and compliance
Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems and reporting tools
Proven leadership and problem‑solving skills
Excellent organizational and communication abilities
Comfortable in a fast‑paced, compliance‑driven environment
Performance Metrics
Inventory accuracy and reconciliation rate
On‑time and accurate order fulfillment
