Reports To: Director, Project Controls
Work Location: 2 Broadway, New York, NY
Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (7.5 hrs/day) with one day of telework per week
Salary Range: $110,909 – $150,996

Summary The Assistant Director, Project Controls, has authority for decision‑making, staffing, and budget within their functional area, subject to approval of significant business and policy issues by departmental or Senior Management. The incumbent makes policy and procedural recommendations with final approval from management and supports their implementation. They may also provide input into overall strategy and approach in consultation with senior delivery management.
Responsibilities
Assists director and project leadership in providing proactive cost, schedule, and risk‑management support to the Program Director and Technical Services.
Independent oversight of project delivery performance relative to project and contract baselines and application of effective project control practices.
Provides cost, schedule, and risk input during the Select‑Phase stage to optimize project configuration for all project scope of work.
Leads front‑end‑loading activities to identify opportunities to mitigate risk and realize value‑for‑money outcomes.
Oversees project delivery performance against baselines and ensures appropriate control practices are applied.
Works cross‑functionally to solve problems and implement changes, analyzing decisions from project outcomes and performance.
Works proactively with Agency and Development to resolve complex issues.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.
Minimum eight (8) years of related experience.
Minimum four (4) years in a management or supervisory role and/or project manager role in a large, multi‑faceted organization.
Competencies
Experience in project management or controls with highly complex systems is preferred.
