The Media Project Manager drives strategic digital advertising campaigns that deliver measurable enrollment and engagement outcomes while maintaining fiscal responsibility for media spend efficiency and team accountability. This role combines project management expertise with media strategy understanding to execute complex, multi‑platform campaigns within the competitive higher education landscape.
Responsibilities
Strategic Campaign Leadership & Performance Outcome Management
Lead comprehensive project planning for media campaigns, establishing clear milestone maps that connect media tactics to client enrollment goals
Coordinate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) resourcing across paid search, social media, display advertising, and analytics teams to optimize campaign performance in partnership with Client Operations
Proactively assess and mitigate campaign risks, including asset delays, approval bottlenecks, and strategic pivots that could impact campaign launch timelines, escalating issues to the Project Lead or Account Director to ensure proactive resolution and sustained client retention
Hold media teams accountable for delivery, timeline adherence, campaign optimization, and campaign coordination through data‑driven review processes and clear communication
Financial Management & Media Spend Optimization
Track campaign performance metrics, media spend efficiency, and project burn rate to ensure campaigns remain profitable
Monitor resource allocation efficiency and make real‑time adjustments to optimize team utilization and project ROI
Collaborate with finance and operations teams to maintain accurate media forecasting
Cross‑Solution Integration & Campaign Workflow Leadership
Maintain strategic awareness of media campaign integration points with solution project management initiatives to ensure consistent messaging and coordinated timing
Collaborate with other solution PMs and Project Leads to coordinate campaign launch schedules and shared creative asset requirements
Escalate platform‑specific challenges and media obstacles to Delivery Operations team for rapid resolution
Participate in cross‑functional planning sessions to align media initiatives with broader client goals and brand strategies
Advanced Campaign Management & Quality Assurance
Manage Asana workflows for campaign coordination, including asset management, approval processes, and timeline tracking automation
Implement and uphold campaign quality assurance standards that exceed client performance expectations and industry benchmarks in conjunction with digital strategist
Develop comprehensive campaign documentation and asset management systems that provide strategists and stakeholders with clear visibility and accountability tracking
Facilitate strategic client communications regarding campaign coordination, asset delivery timelines, and optimization support provided to strategist teams
Qualifications
Basic understanding of various digital marketing tactics, including paid search, display media, paid social media, analytics, and attribution, to facilitate effective team coordination
Knowledge of campaign management platforms, attribution modeling, conversion tracking, and media analytics tools
Experience in project management methodologies with the ability to adapt approaches based on platform requirements and client objectives
Advanced Asana administration, including campaign‑specific automation, performance dashboards, and coordination workflows
Understanding of media P&L management, ROAS optimization, and campaign budget forecasting to maintain fiscal responsibility
Knowledge of higher education enrollment trends and competitive landscape to inform campaign coordination and asset prioritization
Proven ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously while maintaining quality standards and team accountability
Strong collaborator, skilled at aligning strategists and creative teams, fostering open communication between platforms and specialists
Dexterity and wherewithal to effectively deal with campaign pivots, platform changes, and continuous optimization requirements
Demonstrates initiative and autonomy in coordinating campaign assets and timelines while utilizing strategist guidance for technical optimization
Experience or interest in using AI tools, with a willingness to learn how AI can impact and appropriately enhance the client experience
Effective communication and time management skills are required, as well as the ability to use/learn multiple technology platforms and switch between them on a regular basis
Physical requirement: Must be able to work at a computer for prolonged periods
Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Digital Marketing, Project Management, or related field, or equivalent life/work experience
4–7 years of project management experience with increasing responsibility, including a minimum of 2 years of project managing paid media campaigns
Demonstrated experience with major digital advertising platforms and campaign optimization strategies
Higher education or media agency experience strongly preferred
PMP, Agile, or equivalent project management certification preferred
