GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The International Admissions Advisor will be responsible for representing Illinois Institute of Technology at public, recruitment and alumni events, counseling of prospective students for higher education to Illinois Institute of Technology and working with our operations staff for the understanding of application processes and requirements, credential evaluation, and decision making.

This position will be an integral member of the team and assist in meeting enrollment goals as well as establishing and deepening relationships with campus community members, guidance counselors, placement offices, prospective student, parents and channel partners. This will include visits to local schools, universities, channel partners, and other recruitment and yield activities, both in-person and virtually.

Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of International Recruitment, the International Admissions Advisor will be responsible for representing Illinois Institute of Technology on a full-time basis within their assigned territories.

COMMUNICATIONS

Communicate extensively with prospective students and applicants primarily through email, virtual meetings and when appropriate, in-person. This position will also be expected to communicate effectively internally with Illinois Tech staff, partners, faculty and student body. This position also requires confidence in giving presentations to small and large groups.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

This position is expected to provide extraordinary customer service to prospective students, and any other individuals/organizations connected to the enhancement of the university's strategic plan.

The right candidate will have demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment, across different time zones, cultures and expectations

Special Schedule Requirements

During peak season, this position is expected to work weekend and evening hours to meet admission goals and application targets

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Required: • Education: Minimum of a bachelor's degree is preferred. • Familiarity or experience in working within international admissions and/or enrollment is necessary. • Must have at least one year of experience in representing a university or counseling students for study abroad.

Preferred: • Civic minded and committed to higher education and international exchange. • Experience working with CRM lead/prospect management system for an educational institution. • Experience with cold calling, university recruitment calling or working in a call-center environment.

Other requirements & Travel: • Must be able to sit at a desk/computer station for long periods of time. • Up to 30% of domestic and international travel required. • Must be able to read computer screens, listen to audio tones, and speak to customers and agents. • Due to the nature of the recruitment business, the position has high requirement of evening and weekend hours. The International Admissions Advisor must be flexible to work before 9 a.m., until 5 p.m., and/or hours on Saturdays and/or Sundays, as needed.

Knowledge & Skills •

Should

have excellent communication and writing skills. • Should be very organized, goal oriented, able to multi-task and possess good leadership skills. • Computer Skills: Experience with MS Office suites and Outlook. High proficiency in MS Excel is a must. • Should possess excellent interpersonal skills, presentation skills, public speaking, and confidence in interacting with intuitional leadership, school principals, administrators and campus executives and government officials.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibility • Manage inquiries generated by channel partners from the assigned territories through email channels and phone calls providing excellent customer service and adhere to the communication protocol and plan in channel partner response process. • Participate in events organized by Channel Partners. • Provide online and office visit presentations to prospective students, families, and parents interested in Illinois Institute of Technology in support of converting prospects to applicants at channel partner offices. • Provide application processing support to channel partners, as well as in-country staff, as needed and assist in troubleshooting broken processes as assigned. • Enter and track all emails and phone calls communications with channel partners through institution's CRM. Work collaboratively within the International Enrollment Management Department to execute year-round engagement plans for Channel Partners through a variety of communication channels.

Key Responsibility • Become an authority on information pertaining to Illinois Tech's colleges, degrees, programs, majors, admissions requirements, scholarships, assistantships, ranking, accreditations, student life, tuition and international student support offered at the University. • Manage online inquiries generated by Illinois Tech through online portals, email channels, and phone calls providing excellent customer service and accurate university information and adhere to the communication protocol in inquiry response and university communications. • Use social media and other online platforms to connect prospective students; • Execute recruitment activities under guidance from the Assistant Director of International Recruitment, implementing activities to support the Institution's strategic enrollment goals. • Participates in Student Fairs, Alumni events, and other recruitment events in-person and virtually, as available. • Visit high schools, colleges, universities, standardized test centers, channel partner offices and corporate entities to generate inquiries and applications.

Key Responsibility • Serve as team member of the International Enrollment Management department. • Provide support to the university's applications processing team, helping with the application process and requirements, credential evaluation, decision making, and CRM management. • Engage in follow-up activities with students, channel partners, and regional team members on a regular basis on any missing documents or incomplete application to ensure the application is fully completed for processing. • Assist the team by coordinating presentations by Illinois Tech faculty and alumni to elevate Illinois Tech as the university of choice among admitted students; • Organize and execute a pre-departure orientation for departing students by geographical regions.

Meet established enrollment goals as set forth by IEM leadership for assigned territories.

Key Responsibility • Serve as a Brand Ambassador for Illinois Institute of Technology and provide local cultural expertise as required. • Support all Illinois Tech Initiatives as assigned.

Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
