Strategic Staffing Solutions is currently looking for a Systems Operations Engineer , a W2 contract opportunity with one of our largest clients!
Candidates should be willing to work on our W2 ONLY, NO C2C
Job Title : Systems Operations Engineer(Oracle DB)
Role Type: W2 only
Duration:12 months
Locations: Iselin, NJ/Charlotte, NC/Chandler, AZ
Schedule: Onsite
Key Skills: 7+ years of Oracle Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education. Expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and Golden Gate. Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques. Experience with Linux/Unix environments and Shell scripting Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain Oracle databases Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions using Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate. Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for database-related incidents and implement long-term solutions. Automate database maintenance tasks using PL/SQL, Shell scripting, and Ansible. Ensure database security, compliance, and audit readiness (SOX, PCI, HIPAA). Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and security teams to support business initiatives. Manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and enterprise backup tools. Monitor database health using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Prometheus, or custom dashboards. Maintain detailed documentation for database configurations, procedures, and recovery plans. Required Skills:
7+ years of Oracle Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education. Expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and GoldenGate. Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques. Experience with Linux/Unix environments and Shell scripting. Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Jenkins. Knowledge of SAN/NAS storage integration and backup/recovery strategies. Experience with monitoring tools: Oracle Enterprise Manager, Prometheus, or similar. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Proven leadership in incident management and change control processes
