The Opportunity
As an HCM & Benefits Specialist for Quantum Design, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the company's Human Capital Management (HCM) system, Workday. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of employee data, administers employee benefits programs, supports compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and provides critical reporting and analytics to support business decisions. In this critical role, you will collaborate with other members of the HR team as well as Payroll, Finance, and external benefit vendors to ensure seamless processes and excellent employee experience.
Responsibilities
HRIS Administration (Workday)
Administer and maintain the Workday HCM system, including employee records, benefits, leave of absence, and other related modules Manage system transactions, workflows, approvals, and data audits to ensure accuracy and compliance Create, run, and distribute standard and ad hoc HR reports and dashboards to support compliance, headcount tracking, and business needs Partner with IT, Payroll, and HR leadership on system enhancements, configuration updates, testing, and troubleshooting Support implementation of new Workday modules and process improvements as needed Benefits Administration
Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, wellness, and retirement plans Support annual open enrollment including configuration, testing, communication, and issue resolution Ensure employees are accurately enrolled in benefit plans and resolve any discrepancies through audits and coordination with carriers Serve as a point of contact for employee benefit inquiries and provide clear and timely guidance Support the preparation and filing of required benefits compliance reporting (e.g., ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA) Compliance, Auditing & Reporting
Conduct regular data audits to ensure accuracy of employee information in Workday, benefits platforms, and payroll systems Reconcile benefit invoices and payroll deductions to ensure accurate billing and payments Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local employment and benefits regulations Support HR compliance activities, including leave administration, I-9 and EEO reporting, and other required filings Employee Support & Process Improvement
Provide exceptional service to employees and HR team members regarding benefits, leaves, and system-related questions Identify opportunities to streamline and automate processes to improve accuracy and efficiency Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Three years or more years of experience in Human Capital Management and administering employee benefits programs in the U.S., including open enrollment and vendor interfaces One year of hands-on experience administering Workday HCM system Working knowledge of U.S. benefits compliance regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA) Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on employee service Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field Five years of HCM & Benefits administration Exposure to compliance auditing and reporting Additional Information
5 days a week on-site position. The selected candidate will be required to work at our San Diego, CA location.
