Job Summary The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading the Purchasing department, with a team of 4 direct reports. You will take ownership of the procurement function, manage supplier relationships, and develop and implement purchasing strategies. This is a high-impact, hands-on role responsible for building scalable procurement processes to support production growth, improve cost, and ensure reliable material availability. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-growth environments, enjoys creating processes from the ground up, and understands the unique demands of manufacturing complex, custom-engineered products like electrical switchgear.

Qualifications Job Duties and Responsibilities Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with production growth and company objectives Design and implement procurement workflows, policies, and KPIs to improve purchasing efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Lead the purchasing team (currently 4 direct reports) and collaborate with engineering, operations, project management, and production departments. Build strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost control, and supply continuity. Work closely with planning and inventory teams to balance material availability with inventory turns. Coordinate just-in-time delivery of materials while maintaining flexibility driven by project changes Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks. Coach, mentor, and train purchasing team members to ensure continuous professional development and improved team performance Required Skills And Experience Bachelor's degree in business and 5+ years' experience in sourcing, procurement, or purchasing in a manufacturing environment Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Internet, with a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel Knowledge of ERP systems, Epicor a plus.
