Purpose

To ensure accurate financial reporting, cost accounting, and compliance with company policies and GAAP standards. This role plays a key part in managing inventory accounting, analyzing manufacturing costs, and supporting month-end close and reporting processes. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting and financial analysis within a manufacturing environment. Serving both on-site and off-site locations of Blue Polymers within the Shared Services group.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Performance must reflect the appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with a focus on manufacturing operations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Perform cost accounting functions including cost analysis, variance analysis, and inventory valuation. Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, production variances, and labor efficiencies. Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Account for fixed assets, reconcile fixed asset subsidiary ledgers to standard GL accounts & then close by the designated time on the 1st of the month for previous month and open next month for transactional processing Support physical inventory counts and cycle count processes. Analyze and report on inventory trends, scrap, and obsolescence. Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and US GAAP. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and operational financial planning. Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and production teams to provide financial insights. Support external audits and regulatory reporting as needed. Lead or participate in process improvement initiatives and ERP enhancements. Reconcile Subsidiary ledgers: Inventory & Production Orders to Standard GL accounts; then close by designated time on the 1st of the month for the previous month and open next month for transactional processing Support Reconciliation of Subsidiary Ledgers: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable & Cash to Standard GL accounts and close by designated time on the first day of the month for the previous month and open next month for transactional processing Complies with company policies and procedures Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications Education: Minimum bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in accounting, finance, or related field. Transcript requested to substantiate skillset learned through education. Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in similar title and scope of responsibility with at least 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment - preferred (CPA or CMA preferred) Strong understanding of Bills of Materials & costing of Work in Process (WIP) and Finished Goods (FG), inventory accounting, Cost of Goods old (COGS) Must be detail oriented, a self-starter, efficient, reliable, and possess the ability to work well with all departments and vendors while maintaining a professional attitude. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills. Solid knowledge of GAAP and internal control procedures. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to set priorities and maintain functional work environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles Experience with automation tools or ERP implementation projects Competencies; Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA)
