Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting a Pulmonary Critical Care Physician to provide onsite services to eligible beneficiaries of the Columbia VA Health Care System located at 6439 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Shift scheduling is generally Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm with call. Full-time and Locum Tenens positions with generous compensation packages are available.

Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care: Provide a full range of pulmonary and critical care services to VA beneficiaries, including outpatient, inpatient, consults, procedures, and follow-up care. Estimated 90% of time is spent in direct patient care

Administrative Tasks: Participate in quality improvement activities, attend staff meetings, complete documentation, and comply with reporting requirements. Estimated 10% of time is spent on these duties

Supervision & Education: Supervise and educate health professions trainees (residents/fellows) in accordance with VA and accrediting agency guidelines

On-Call Coverage: Be available for on-call duties (evenings, weekends, holidays) as needed. Must respond within 15 minutes by phone and be on-site within 30 minutes when on-call

Procedures: Perform a wide range of pulmonary procedures (e.g., bronchoscopy, lung biopsies, pulmonary function tests, sleep studies, critical care management)

Documentation: Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the VA electronic health record system, including communication of test results and patient safety incidents

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Pulmonary Disease.

Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia

Active AHA BLS certification

NPI report printout

Active DEA license

Must be able to pass a federal background investigation

All candidates must be able to:

Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift

Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist

Lift up to 20 lbs

Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance

Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
