Job Summary:

H2M architects + engineers, seeks a dynamic and highly motivated Corporate Business Development Associate who will be responsible for achieving regional revenue objectives via sales and business development (BD) activities with targeted accounts in conjunction with company business/market plans. BD activities include actively seeking new clients as well as growing existing client relations. We are seeking a skilled BD professional with extensive experience and focus on developing long-term relationships with key vertical markets. This position will report directly to the Chief Growth and Development Officer.

Note: A successful track record of calling on and increasing market share in several of the following markets is highly desired:

Private Development, Health Care, Public Agencies, Education, Municipal Government, Water and Wastewater, Public Safety, Energy/Power Utilities, and Insurance Markets.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a tactical marketing plan with input from the Chief Growth and Development Officer and other key company personnel, with the objective of increasing client base, grow revenue and profitability, and expand market share. Provide regular contact for the firm with those prospective new and existing clients from which work might be secured. Concentrate efforts on implementing a direct field tactical sales program, under the auspices of new account development. (This program would be carried out in coordination with the Chief Growth and Development Officer and with consideration to the company strategic market sector business plans.) Build new client relationships with key accounts and develop strategic teaming relationships with firms in selected markets as directed by the Director of Corporate Business Development; Identification of appropriate Teaming Partners, if needed, to secure work. Assist in the determination and development of market penetration strategies. Identify key accounts within targeted markets; provide executive presentations with assistance from Chief Growth and Development Officer. Maintain close relationships with a select channel of contacts at key accounts. Introduce key H2M leaders to contacts. Provide input to properly assess "go/no go" decisions on RFP's; moving forward on major proposal activities throughout the company. Provide timely intelligence for business development strategy, tactics and proposal budgetary cost estimates to greatly increase the firm's probability to win projects. Negotiate concurrence with clients on proposed objectives, scope, quality, project team, costs, etc. Join and attend appropriate Trade Shows as necessary, creating greater exposure to strengthen the company's image, resulting in the generation of positive leads and follow-up. Keep up to date on the industry's happenings and knowledge of key individual movement and potential client strategies. Maintain a high level of knowledge on a broad range of architectural, engineering and environmental services offered within the firm. Provide assistance to assure that appropriate marketing and presentation materials effectively target slated markets and accounts to help close sales. Generate a Monthly Sales Report of Activities for the Chief Growth and Development Officer. Committed to a varying work schedule and travel to H2M's any of H2M's offices and call on accounts in assigned market sectors. Maintain contacts and BD activities in the company CRM database. Education & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Science, Business Management or related technical discipline. Minimum 7 years outside sales experience in architecture, engineering (design), and environmental industry. Must have strong oral, written and presentation skills. A self-motivated person with an entrepreneurial spirit that is committed to a successful career in outside sales. Demonstrated ability to consistently prospect for new sources of business and able to make cold calls as needed. Ability to set and achieve challenging sales goals and successfully manage accounts within the designated region. Ability to develop a strong rapport with clients and maintain excellent working relationships. Must be able to overcome objections and match client needs. Demonstrated experience managing demands of an ever-changing business environment The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $150,000 annually.
