A Field Foreman is responsible for directing personnel in the safe execution of the site-specific scope of work items outlined in the contract documents. The Field Foreman is also responsible for all associated paperwork and documentation. Must be able to read prints and written instructions as well as follow verbal directions to perform duties. Heavy lifting and extended periods of time inside confined spaces with respirators or breathing equipment may be required. Must be able to tolerate extreme weather conditions and travel out of town, including out of state. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure that all employees are working in a safe manner and environment in accordance with the HMT Safety Manual, site-specific requirements, and customer requirements. Initiate and manage the daily tailgate safety meeting and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). Collaborate with the Project Manager and Supervisors/Construction Managers to understand the scope of work and communicate potential problems regularly. Ensure compliance with all HMT and customer specifications, guidelines, and programs and document as required. Manage the field crew in the performance of daily tasks; ensure work is performed efficiently with regard to manpower, equipment, tools, and consumables. Ensure compliance with QA/QC requirements, including contract drawings and specifications. Complete general site paperwork (timesheets, T&M sheets, progress reports, etc.). Maintain onsite customer relations. Red-line construction drawings for approved scope changes and provide sketches of existing customer equipment related to our scope (platform connections, ladders, catwalks, piping). Complete required HMT Data Sheets (roof drain systems, suctions, seal data, etc.). Train crew members in tank repairs and tank building where applicable; train prospective employees to become Field Foremen. Maintain a positive attitude with crew members. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. 2 years experience as a field foreman in the AST (Above Ground Storage Tank) industry. Minimum of 35 years of Foreman experience. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple jobs concurrently (up to 15 employees). Maintain accurate Field Progress Reports and provide clear instructions to multiple employees. Ability to complete all required safety and QA/QC paperwork without assistance. Knowledge of automatic welding and burning equipment; able to run, repair, and train others in its use. Ability to interpret field and fabrication drawings. Must be able to communicate via email and phone; DOT OQ qualified. Certified to weld with automatic equipment (3 oclocks, automatic vertical welder, fluxcore) and meet criteria for Class B Welder. Certified Rigger; understand and follow rigging practices. Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The physical demands must be met to perform essential functions. The employee frequently stands, walks, kneels, crouches, climbs, carries, pushes/pulls, and uses hands.Lifts up to 50 pounds may be required. Extended work in varied locations across the U.S. with possible extreme temperatures, confined spaces, fumes/odors, and working at heights. HMT provides training and equipment as needed.
