Job Summary:
The Shipping Clerk/Coordinator is responsible for preparing, packaging, and processing outgoing shipments while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Versova's standards and customer requirements. This role works closely with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to maintain efficient shipping operations that support the company's commitment to safe, high-quality food production.
Essential Job Functions: Prepare, pack, and label orders for shipment in compliance with company and carrier requirements. Verify contents of shipments against bills of lading, invoices, or shipping orders. Schedule pickups and coordinate with carriers (UPS, FedEx, freight, etc.). Maintain shipping records and ensure proper documentation is filed. Assist with receiving incoming shipments, checking for damages, and reporting discrepancies. Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors of shortages or delays. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment as needed (if certified). Maintain shipping supplies and request replenishments as necessary. Follow all company safety, food safety, and compliance policies. Support continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse and shipping functions. Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Forklift certification (or ability to become certified) may be required. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in agriculture, food production, or manufacturing industries. Familiarity with ERP or warehouse management systems. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus. Work Environment:
This position is primarily based in an office setting, with occasional visits to warehouses or distribution centers, providing a diverse work environment. The role may involve some travel to meet with vendors or visit company facilities, requiring adaptability to different locations. Given the nature of logistics operations, there is potential for occasional evening or weekend work to address urgent issues, demanding flexibility in work hours. The job operates in a fast-paced environment, necessitating the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and make quick, effective decisions. This dynamic work setting requires strong organizational skills, adaptability, and the capacity to thrive under pressure.
