Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion and skilled communication, leads efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. bout Facility Milwaukee, WI Level IV Trauma Center Level III NICU Level III Perinatal Center ccreta Center of Excellence dvance Comprehensive Stroke Center Teaching hospital Beds: 228 Covid vaccine required General Information Beds: 20 Experience: 2 years First-time traveler: NO Required: Must have Level III Perinatal Care Experience Provided care for high-risk mothers/newborns Will not accept any travelers without this experience (no exceptions) Patient Types: High risk mothers/newborns Knowledgeable in placenta accreta (able to support), tubal ligation, cerclage, hysterectomies, assist as secondary nurse for C-section deliveries, circulate in vaginal delivers, surgical recovery, care for newborns, massive transfusions, pre-eclampsia, COVID No circulation for C-sections as primary nurse Covid & PPE: Will be fit-tested at facility Single use PPE CAPR/PAPR available Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 Active Labor 1:3 Antepartum Follows AWHONN staffing guidelines Required Certifications: RN: BLS, NRP, FHM OB Tech: BLS, CST Skills required RN: Fetal monitoring, maternal assessments/interventions, high risk newborns/mothers post-delivery, cervical exams for labor progression, OB triage, able to assist with circulating c-sections, primary nurse for vaginal deliveries, assist with procedures, post-partum, L&D recoveries OB Tech - scrub c-sections, draw cord gases and blood at deliveries, and perform stocking, delivery set up, room set up, and Health Unit Coordinator tasks on the unit Support on the Unit: Charge nurse: patient assignment based on staffing Clinical Resource Nurse Phlebotomy: lab draws (shared role with RN) RT, house supervisor, certified nurse midwives, OBGYN Providers, OB anesthesia onsite 24/7 Charting System/Equipment: EPIC laris Pyxis Fetal Monitoring Epidural Pumps Floating: Postpartum Women's Care Center (another inpatient unit) Inpatient women that have had procedures done (non-pregnant) Travelers will float first Orientation: First Day: Meet with NM for NEO onboarding Rest of the day, on the unit for training Second Day: Training with preceptor Third Day: ssigned a work buddy Will have own patient assignment Scheduling: No set schedules Must be available to work 7 days a week Plugged into the schedule where traveler is needed Every other weekend, block scheduling, patterned scheduling not guaranteed ttempt to try to make it happen RTO: Email NM Cassandra Belotti On-Call , x6 - 4 hour call blocks per 6 week schedule Holiday Expectations: Every other holiday, based on start date Other notes: Scrub Color: Provided Parking: Free designated areas
