Automation Technician

We are seeking for a qualified Automation Controls Technician who would be responsible for monitoring and improving the reliability of automated production systems at a manufacturing facility. Responsibilities: Lead troubleshooting of electrical and automation issues during assigned shifts. Install, maintain, and repair control devices including HMIs, VFDs, PLCs, and sensors. Support and train personnel on electrical and automation systems. Conduct audits and provide training for the Lockout/Tagout program. Collaborate with maintenance teams on preventive and predictive maintenance activities. Assist with equipment installations and calibrate electrical control components to support production needs. Communicate system issues and improvement opportunities with the Controls Engineer. Document and complete work orders, capturing relevant maintenance data. Provide hands-on assistance with mechanical and electrical breakdowns as needed. Stay current with hardware/software updates to enhance troubleshooting capabilities. Essential Skills: Proficiency in PLC programming (ladder logic, structured text). Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial AC/DC electrical systems. Familiarity with HMIs, sensors, level controls, VFDs, and related components. Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and update drawings as necessary. Working knowledge of CMMS systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Office. Understanding of NEC standards and OSHA safety protocols. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to train and mentor others in control systems. Additional Information: Candidate must be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug and background check. This is a permanent and direct-hire position based out of Tooele, Utah. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $79,000.00/yr. Time off with generous paid time off packages. Profit sharing through stock option grants and cash bonuses. Employee healthcare costs are held flat for the fourth consecutive year. Choose a traditional or Roth 401k. We match up to 3% dollar for dollar, then $.50 on the dollar up to 5%. Training and tuition assistance available. This is a fully onsite position in Tooele, UT.
