Position Summary The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler supports the function of the plant maintenance group by developing job plans and advance work schedules, and ensuring that all internal customers’ needs are met safely and efficiently. The role is responsible for overseeing the continued development of preventative and corrective maintenance through effective use of the enterprise resource planning (ERP) software SAP. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Essential Functions

Assure SAP accuracy by establishing/maintaining all assets, preventative maintenance schedules, and work order elements.

Update SAP software as required to ensure adequate preventative maintenance.

Create work plan (including work orders) for each member of the maintenance staff.

Create and provide KPI reports to maintenance manager. Estimate materials and man‑hour requirements for all planned work.

Validate all materials are available and/or work with purchasing to order the required parts.

Develop a preliminary workforce weekly schedule by crew ensuring all required skills and resources are met. Develop work plans for maintenance jobs with necessary information to allow efficient scheduling, assignment, and execution.

Create, use, and maintain plant history and other technical files to include information in current job plans to anticipate and avoid job delays.

Assist storeroom personnel in performing purchasing duties as required. Maintain an accurate inventory and ensure critical parts are on hand.

Compile equipment information into a job package that is ready for technicians to accomplish each shift; clearly communicate the critical steps in the work process.

Engage with Safety, Production, Quality, Materials departments. Schedule and coordinate with maintenance departments on specific concerns.

Follow up with maintenance supervisors and mechanics regarding completion of all planned work. Ensure all documentation has been completed accurately including a list of all parts used.

Create PM forecasts and communicate to leadership.

Accurately track metrics on the performance of planning and scheduling functions. Provide reports to maintenance manager.

Issue scheduled work orders with job plan packers to maintenance staff.

Read and comprehend equipment manuals, P&IC’s and maintain accuracy of equipment metadata by regularly collecting and inputting information, such as manufacturer, model, serial number, and system structure information.

Review stock levels of maintenance items and communicate changes to maintenance/parts inventory control.

Report all food safety related problems to supervisor, manager, or quality assurance department to initiate immediate action.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Work independently with minimal supervision.

Flexible and able to work as needed. Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).

Coordinate daily and weekly maintenance work planning and scheduling meetings.

Excellent computer skills.

Coordinate periodic inspections of all plant equipment.

Knowledge of large industrial equipment such as fans, pumps, ammonia compressors, air and pneumatics, boilers and associated components.

Knowledge of safety hazards and appropriate precautions applicable to work assignments.

Mechanical/Electrical maintenance background and aptitude.

Knowledge of or willingness to learn SAP maintenance management system.

Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve issues in a timely manner.

What You Bring To The Table… (must Have)

High School Diploma/GED.

4+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.

6+ months prior planning experience.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)

Associate's degree in engineering.

4+ years industrial experience in fast‑paced production environments.

Mechanical/Electrical maintenance background.

Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.

SAP Maintenance Management System knowledge (or willingness to learn).

Safety awareness and hazard mitigation.

Strong communication across diverse, multilingual teams.

Planning, scheduling, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Spanish and/or Vietnamese fluency.

Time management: Balancing multiple lines, projects, and schedules.

SAP Experience.

Compensation And Benefits The target base salary range for this full‑time, salaried position is $56,500–$81,200, depending on work location and other factors such as experience, job‑related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401(k), and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
