Overview CAES by Honeywell is seeking a Mechanical and Solder Assembler to work at our San Jose, CA facility. The Assembler will support production activities within a group concentrating on advanced microwave subsystems for applications including missile front ends, radar receivers, wideband tuners, and synthesized sources.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Work in a production environment to provide mechanical assembly support on complex microwave subsystems, meeting daily output goals established by your lead.
Build circuit card assemblies, manually soldering surface mount and through‑hole components and applying conformal coating after soldering.
Carefully follow production documentation and processes, including keeping detailed records of rework performed.
Actively participate in daily production meetings.
Qualifications Minimum
At least 5 years’ experience as a mechanical/solder assembler in a production environment.
Ability to solder small surface mount and through‑hole parts.
Proficiency with small hand tools such as tweezers and torque drivers; experience working under a microscope.
Position requires access to technology, materials, software, or hardware controlled by U.S. export laws. Must be a “U.S. Person” under U.S. export laws or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred
At least 8 years’ experience as a mechanical/solder assembler in a production environment.
Able to work unsupervised and train junior assemblers.
IPC 610 certification a plus.
Good written and verbal skills; ability to carefully follow written instructions.
Basic computer skills required for online training, email, and computerized time‑keeping.
Hourly Range Assembler III $24.50 – $29.00 per hour; Assembler IV $26.50 – $33.00 per hour. Pay may vary by location, job function, education, and experience.
