Senior Tax Associate – Position Summary Helm Tax and Advisory Group, P.A. is growing, and our clients need your expertise! The Senior Tax Associate will handle complex tax engagements with a concentrated focus on flow-through taxation (S corporations, partnerships, and individual returns). This position offers the opportunity to deepen technical expertise and contribute to high-quality client service within a collaborative professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare tax returns involving complex issues with an emphasis on flow-through entities (S corporations, partnerships, and related individual returns).
Review less complex individual and business tax returns.
Prepare tax projections and develop effective tax planning strategies.
Respond to federal and state tax notices promptly and professionally.
Research increasingly complex tax issues using professional internet research services.
Manage multiple assignments simultaneously to meet internal and external deadlines.
Develop business by expanding existing client relationships, maintaining personal networks, and participating in civic, business, and professional organizations.
Identify opportunities to provide additional services and value to clients.
Support the training and technical development of tax associates.
Use research services to increase technical knowledge and enhance the quality of client deliverables.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
4+ years of public accounting and/or corporate experience in a tax environment preferred.
Strong research and technical writing skills required.
CPA license or active CPA candidacy required.
Thorough knowledge of fundamental accounting principles required.
Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.
Proficient verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively required.
Professional demeanor with strong ethics, sound judgment, and a commitment to confidentiality and independence required.
