We are seeking an Epic Hospital Billing Analyst III to join our team – this candidate will work on our Epic HB team performing builds, testing, validation, maintenance and ongoing support of the Epic HB module. The role requires the Resolute Hospital Billing Administration certification and the Resolute Hospital Billing Fundamentals for Single Billing Office (SBO) certification. Responsibilities include performing builds and configs, working on Epic upgrade projects, handling enhancement requests, ticket queue responses, and break/fix duties. A level III Analyst should have a minimum of 5 years Epic Analyst experience in this space with the certifications listed above. Remote position; candidates must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or Wisconsin. Responsibilities
Design, build, test, validate, maintain and provide ongoing support of Clinical or Revenue Cycle Applications. Collaborate across interdisciplinary workgroups to accomplish goals as a team. Represent the Information Technology team, fostering positive business relationships with co‑workers, clinical and financial department representatives, Epic partners, and all staff who use the Epic application suite. Monitor and mentor other analysts in methods, processes and implementation, managing complex projects independently. Act as a business partner with service lines, departments, and individuals, developing advanced knowledge of system capabilities and serving as an educator and expert for system users. Participate actively in routine meetings with department heads and superusers to identify, document, and prioritize needs. Perform rounds with departments to maintain casual interface and focus on relationship building; lead delivery of technical consulting and support services with some management input. Provide Epic and other application software support, file maintenance, build for break-fixes, optimizations, special updates, upgrades, and implementations; resolve application errors and system issues independently. Coordinate and document release notes, testing, and implementation of programming, upgrade, and project requests. Maintain strong relationships with all application vendors. Assist with Epic Security assignment, security templates, and maintenance where appropriate; provide on‑call coverage as scheduled. Provide project management services and support with some management oversight; follow EHC IS project management protocol. Advocate user perspective and ensure comprehensive support plans and documentation. Work with end users to navigate the new request process. Ensure compliance with EHC IS, EHC, Joint Commission, and HIPAA guidelines, policies, and procedures. Provide system solutions in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Follow prescribed change management and time reporting processes and documentation requirements. Respond to support calls within designated times, providing regular updates until resolution. Assist in queue management to ensure efficient call follow‑up. Communicate clear documentation for support, status, and issue resolutions. Remain current on Epic new version training for all applicable Epic certifications (if Epic). Preferred Qualifications
Revenue cycle background, including regulatory requirements and their impact (e.g., MNC, CCI, LCDS). Understanding of flow from scheduling, registration, charges, medical records to patient financial services. Epic Certifications: Resolute Hospital Billing Fundamentals for Single Billing Office, Resolute Hospital Billing Administration. Epic HB Analyst Experience: Estimates, Charity, Financial Assistance Module, Denials, Consecutive Account logic/troubleshooting, Client billing, System actions, WQ. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with major coursework in computer science, Information Technology, engineering, or equivalent related experience. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in clinical, business, or other healthcare operational areas (or 7 years no degree). Required Epic certification within the first 90 days of completing training if not obtained prior to hire. Working knowledge and subject matter expertise in the assigned operational department areas. Knowledge and Abilities: Advanced oral and written communication with diverse populations; advanced organizational, problem‑solving, analytical, and time management skills; advanced interpersonal skills to interact positively across lines; creative problem‑solver focused on objectives within prescribed timelines; flexibility to manage multiple initiatives and shift priorities based on business needs; monitors and mentors other analysts; manages complex projects independently.
