Job Description
As a Welder, you will be responsible for performing MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on metal components and assemblies. You will use a wide range of fabrication tools and equipment to ensure strong, precise welds that meet customer and company standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
Select equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques
Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
May operate fabrication equipment such as CNC torch, CNC anglematic, CNC fabripunch, and other component production equipment
Weld separately or in combination, using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys
Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding
Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications or types and thicknesses of metals
Clean laser beds and assist the operators and shop as needed.
Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications
2+ years of welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with MIG, TIG, laser welding; Stick welding a plus.
Strong understanding of weld symbols, blueprints, and measuring tools.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required(welding certification preferred).
Pay Range:$24.00 - $35.00 per hour
